La Premier League est le championnat élite du football anglais. Avant la réforme de 1992, ce championnat était connu sous le nom de First division et de 1888 à 1892 il se nommait Football League. Le championnat d'Angleterre est le plus vieux championnat de football au monde. Ainsi depuis 1888, les meilleurs clubs d'Angleterre et du pays de Galles se disputent chaque année le titre de champion. Il est à noter cependant, que ce championnat fut interrompu durant la première et la seconde guerre mondial. Ce palmarès est dominé par Liverpool (18 titres), devant Manchester United (15 titres) et Arsenal (13 titres).
